BUT…if you've got some extra time to kill, would like to meet some interesting new people, and feast on the best fried chicken in the Illinois Valley, then you need to stop and see us. If there’s one thing about Rip’s Tavern that’s for certain - We’re unique!
he first thing many of our newcomers notice is the line… No worries. This is were the experience begins, as our customers and locals provide a friendly atmosphere that only comes in a small town package. Plus, we try our best to move the line as quickly as possible, and with 75 years of service under our belt, we think we do a pretty good job. If you are dead-set on a quick seating, your best bet is to come when the doors open – but there’s no guarantee!
The rest of the formula is pretty simple: We have an overly-friendly serving staff, rock-bottom pricing, and the best fried chicken in the Illinois Valley.
